Ed Phillips , PhD Duke University Professor of the Practice of Christian Worship, whose interests are in the history of the practical and pastoral aspects of the church--how the church conducted worship, initiated Christians, and organized ministries--as a way to understand the development of Christian theology. Dr. Phillips chaired the United Methodist General Conference Holy Communion Study for the past three years.
